What thermostat to use for Oldsmobile Cutlass - 1982?

I Have Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Bourgham 1982.

The engine in V6 3.8L.

I need to replace the thermostat but I notice that there are 3 type of them : 160,180 and 195潞.

How should I decide what is the best for my engine ?

Thanks|||i would run the stock size. you would have to take it out to see what one you have. remember that just because you put a colder thermostat in your car does not mean it will run cooler. it can but it can also make it run hotter. all configurations are different. a colder thermostat will allow the water to flow more often between the radiator and the engine. this in some cars will make it run hotter because the water is in the radiator for less time not allowing it to cool down enough before returning to the engine. being a 82 olds you probably will not notice a difference with all 3 thermostats. this car only has a 2 core but is large enough which ever one you use.|||really ive always ran 195 but really you can look at old one and pick same thing 180 woul dbe ok also i wouldnt use the lowest|||decide what's best for the area you live in, if you live in a very hot climate choose the lowest, if its very cold in your area, choose the highest. if its in between then, you know which one....|||Stock should be 195. I would use that, alot of people change to different temperatures but I always install what ever was stock on all my customers cars. I'm a mechanic not an engineer, so I leave the decision on whats best for the vehicle to them. They designed the car after all.

  1. Thermostat plays an important role in a air conditioning unit. it is an useful one. If it damaged it can affect the whole system. as I can see here you have to replace them
