How many cylinders did the 1978 Oldsmobile delta 88 had?

My dad used to have that 1978 oldsmobile delta 88 but I don't know if it was an 8 cylinder though|||The standard engine was the old 3.8L Buick V6. There were a 4.3L V8 (yes a V8) and a 5.7L V8 available as the optional engines.|||The 78 Olds Deltas came with a 350 C.I. V-8 as the base engine. Options up to and including the 403 C.I. V-8 were available.

I do recall that you could get the 231 V-6 from Buick in the Deltas, but I don't recall the year(s) of that option.|||There were a lot of engine options for that model and year.

Most common one I had seen were the 5.7 Chev V8.

I never saw a V6 in a 88. Maybe 1 4.3. Couple 6.6's.

That was also the first year for the 5.7 diesel.|||6|||Very few would have been sold with a 6. Any of the V-8s would have been more popular. It was a big car, and gas was cheap.|||They were still using small block V8s back then. I used to have a 69 model that has a big block 455.|||It came standard with a V6, but a V8 was optional.
