I have a '99 Oldsmobile Cutlass. If the security is triggered, it won't start. Does anyone know how to turn it off permenantly? I know there has to be a wire to cut, but I don't know which one.
Help?|||The ignition system looks for resistance factor form the key. If it does not see that resistance the car will not start. It is not just a simply cut this wire and splice it together with other. The system is designed to stop your car from being stolen if it was that simple then it would not be of any use would it. Cheap trick you can try is to get a key punched out at the dealer. Do not just get your key copied this will do nothing as the key wears it will not push the tumbler in the ign cylinder fully cause an incorrect reading. By having a key punch cut at the dealer using your VIN number sometimes this can work. If not you are looking at having the passkey sensor, the ign cylinder, and the key replaced
